📸 Early days of Soan Chirhi School
Soan Chiri School of Language & Culture was established in 2022 with the goal of providing a structured and immersive Punjabi language learning experience. Our school follows the Australian Curriculum for Languages and integrates cultural learning to support students in building a strong connection with their heritage.
We offer classes for students of all ages and backgrounds, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, listening, and cultural appreciation. Through a dynamic and interactive teaching approach, we aim to make learning Punjabi engaging, meaningful, and relevant to students growing up in Australia.
We believe that language is more than communication—it is a bridge to identity, history, and values. By learning Punjabi, students strengthen bilingual skills, deepen cultural understanding, and develop pride in their roots.
New in 2026: We are registered to deliver SACE Stage 1 Punjabi, providing senior secondary students with an accredited pathway to formally recognise their Punjabi language learning. We aim to expand our senior secondary offerings to include SACE Stage 2 Punjabi from 2027.
Our mission is to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where students develop proficiency in the Punjabi language while deepening their connection to Punjabi culture and heritage.
We are committed to preserving and promoting the Punjabi language among young learners by fostering a love for their mother tongue through structured learning, interactive activities, and meaningful cultural experiences.
Through a curriculum aligned with Australian language education standards, we support students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking, listening, and comprehension skills, enabling them to become confident bilingual communicators.
As a registered provider of SACE Stage 1 Punjabi, our mission includes supporting senior secondary students to access accredited Punjabi language study and achieve formal recognition for their learning as part of their SACE.
We aim to nurture a lifelong appreciation for Punjabi language, literature, history, and traditions, ensuring that future generations maintain a strong linguistic and cultural identity within the Australian context.
Our vision is to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive learning community where students embrace their Punjabi heritage with pride, confidence, and a strong sense of identity. Through quality language education, cultural immersion, and community engagement, we aim to empower future generations to remain connected to their roots.
We envision a future where Punjabi continues to thrive as a living language in Australia—valued not only within families and communities, but also recognised within formal education pathways. By fostering appreciation for Punjabi literature, music, history, and cultural values, we seek to build a strong and enduring cultural foundation for our learners.

The Soan Chiri School of Language & Culture conducts Punjabi language classes for students of all proficiency levels. Classes are structured to accommodate beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced speakers, ensuring a tailored learning experience for each student.
Our lessons follow a student-centred approach, combining language instruction with interactive activities to build fluency, comprehension, and cultural awareness.
The Soan Chiri School of Language & Culture is led by a dedicated team of educators and administrators who are passionate about preserving and promoting the Punjabi language. All staff members, including the Principal, Manager, Administrators, and Teachers, are volunteers who have undergone training through Community Language Schools South Australia (CLSSA). Their commitment ensures the highest standard of language education for our students.

Soan Chiri School of Language & Culture welcomes students of all proficiency levels who wish to learn Punjabi. Enrolments are managed through Community Language Schools South Australia (CLSSA) to ensure a consistent and transparent admissions process.
